As the media continues to join
Democrats’ pile-on with false narratives surrounding Republicans’
alternate electors meeting in December 2020, we are setting the record
straight. Republican electors met in order to preserve legal options
while lawsuits were still outstanding. Democrats know this, but
they’re feigning outrage in order to distract from their failed
record. While the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel today wrote a clickbait
article in hopes of creating drama surrounding the
“secrecy” of the meeting, they neglected to include the fact that
WisGOP officials were speaking with reporters from the outlet in
real-time, which we reminded them of in our official statement. Of
course, that portion of the statement wasn’t included in the story.
The Republican Party of Wisconsin will continue to debunk
these false narratives and push back on Democrats’ political theater
pile-on.

Last week, Wisconsinites celebrated
National School Choice Week! Since Governor Tommy Thompson launched
the modern school choice movement, Wisconsin has boasted a proud
history of supporting educational choice, which creates better
outcomes for students and expands opportunities for success. Today,
over 48,000 Wisconsin children benefit from school choice – allowing
students of all backgrounds to obtain a quality education. You can
read our full statement here, and if you are interested in participating
in one of Wisconsin’s school choice programs, you can check your
eligibility and apply on behalf of your child here.

Last week, Milwaukee was struck by
yet another horrific act of violence after a sheriff’s deputy was shot
following a traffic stop. Tragically, this is only the most recent
event in a two-year crime spike, as the city once again set a record
for homicides in 2021. Meanwhile, Tony Evers is missing in action.
After his performative press conference on violence prevention in
Milwaukee last October that was interrupted by gunfire, Evers has been
mum on rising crime while Wisconsin communities continue to suffer.
Wisconsinites deserve a governor who will truly stand up for public
safety – not throw arbitrary dollar amounts on a press
release.

In Case You Missed
It…
In 2018, Tony Evers said that
“flip-flopping” is not a “great re-election strategy.” Nonetheless,
Tony Evers proposed the same child tax credit policy that he opposed
while running for governor in 2018. Try as Evers might to explain that
“this is not a re-election thing,” despite the fact that he opposed
this very policy until his re-election year, Wisconsinites see the
truth behind his sudden change of heart.
Kamala Harris is trying to play damage control for Joe Biden’s
disastrous first year in office. If Harris spent more time addressing
the border crisis, working to lower prices, or fixing the crippled
supply chain and less time on photo opps, perhaps the Biden
administration’s approval rating would be better than 33 percent.
