The NYC Literary Action Coalition, in partnership with PEN America, presents the Writing as Activism Fellowship ([link removed]) , which reimagines the role of writers in New York City, offering tools and support to produce literary work that centers activism on community and social justice issues. We’re incredibly excited to announce the 2022 cohort: Andrea Ambam, Brittany Barker, Charles Rice-Gonzalez, John Paul (JP) Infante, Nicole Smith Futrell, and Tenzin Mingyur Paldron. DREAMing Out Loud Spring 2022 Applications Are Open ([link removed])

DREAMing Out Loud ([link removed]) is a paid, tuition-free creative writing workshop series for young immigrant writers, primarily those who are undocumented, DACA recipients, and/or DREAMers who came to the United States when they were children. By providing community and professional support to the next generation of immigrant writers, the program seeks to counter anti-immigrant sentiment in the U.S. and to amplify the voices of many living in this country who are marginalized because of their immigration status. Organized under the support of the PEN America Translation Committee ([link removed]) , these events will bring together a total of nine translators, joined by their authors, working in nine languages from across the world, including Bulgarian, Canadian French, Finnish, German, Hebrew, Latgalian, Romanian, Spanish, and Ukrainian. The reading will be followed by a brief Q&A discussion, time-permitting. Conversations will be moderated by Nancy Naomi Carlson, Marguerite Feitlowitz, and Katherine E. Young.
