I’ve been hearing a lot from our grassroots supporters that you want more communication about where your donations go — more specifically than “electing Virginia Democrats”. I wanted to peel back the curtain and give you an inside look at one of the programs that the Democratic Party of Virginia is trying to get off the ground:

Local candidate support. Local government impacts the everyday lives of our friends and neighbors, in some ways more than our state and federal government do. That’s why we’re investing in local elections throughout the commonwealth this year.

We need your support here today to help this program reach its full potential. So I’m asking — will you chip in today to help the DPVA get local Democrats elected across the commonwealth?

The media tends to talk about Statewide and Federal elections the most, often leaving School Board and County Board, City Council, and Mayoral elections at the wayside. That leads to a lot of folks not even knowing when their local elections are held and who’s running for those critical seats. We’re trying to combat that.

With your help we can give these local candidates the spotlight they deserve, the support they need, and hopefully a win in November.
