We don’t talk about this enough, John.
Black folks built this country. Throughout history, Black leaders have turned the tides of our country, and every day we see examples of Black history makers who continue to do just that.
From the organizers who marched on the Ferguson frontline to save Black lives and sent a message that our lives matter. To government leaders who are working to transform our politics and enact legislation to address the harm that centuries of racist policies have caused. And, leaders like Cori — the first Black woman elected to represent Missouri in Congress — who are advocating for the bold, anti-racist policies St. Louis and communities like it need.
We know that every day is an important day to celebrate the achievements of Black leaders, but today let's join together to support Cori and this bold movement for change. Will you chip in $5 or anything you can to re-elect the first activist from the movement in defense of Black lives elected to federal office?
In Congress, Cori is working to legislate in defense of Black lives. From advocating for the end of the Jim Crow filibuster to introducing legislation to transform our system of public safety, Cori is advocating for policies to save lives.
But not everyone is happy with our movement. Just last week, Fox News advocated for Cori to face violence on live TV as a result of her work to keep Black people free from police violence. And this is just the latest example of their racist programming targeting Cori in an effort to devalue Black lives.
John, for the entirety of our country's history white supremacists have gone to great lengths to disenfranchise Black Americans. And at every turn, Black leaders have made history, making bold strides toward progress.
Cori continues that work today, but she needs this grassroots team to have her back in the face of white supremacy in our country. Please, chip in today to help power Cori's work in Congress to save Black lives and dismantle systemic racism in our country.
Together,
Team Cori
