Members of Congress have tremendous power over numerous industries and access to confidential information. They should not be allowed to use their positions of power for personal financial gain by using insider information to make investments in the stock market.

In 2020, 75 lawmakers held stocks in top vaccine producers Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, and Pfizer, with most trades occurring in the early weeks of the pandemic. Several other members of Congress followed suit and made investments in several industries, taking advantage of the pandemic for personal gain.
