It was great to stop by Antler Taxidermy, which was recently honored as Meeker’s business of the month. As a restaurant owner, I know that small businesses are the backbone of Colorado and of our national economy, and I am doing everything I can to help them succeed and create jobs for their local communities. No government agency can lift someone out of poverty like a small business, and no welfare benefits are better than a job. We need to get our country back to work, and it starts by supporting small businesses.
I am working to protect rural Colorado jobs, which is why I introduced the Protecting American Energy Jobs Act to nullify and defund Biden’s job-killing executive orders that targeted rural communities impacted by the oil and natural gas markets. Biden’s energy executive orders have already cost Colorado over 9,000 jobs, and if left in place, they are projected to kill 343,088 jobs annually in eight western states alone. I am working hard to defend our way of life and fight these regulatory mandates from the Biden administration.

Land-use decisions are best made on the ground. I had a productive field visit with the Bureau of Land Management in the Grand Valley to discuss issues facing our public lands. We discussed partnerships with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office to patrol the swaths of public land and ensure that it remains a safe environment for recreation and multiple use.
Keeping land-use decision-makers near the communities they impact is important, which is why I led the charge and worked with Governor Polis as well as Senators Hickenlooper and Bennet to keep the Bureau of Land Management headquarters in Grand Junction. Thanks to my public pressure campaign, Grand Junction will be the Bureau’s Western Headquarters and 36 good-paying jobs will stay there, up from 16 initially announced by the Biden administration.

It was great to visit Meeker to discuss issues facing the White River Conservation District. We discussed my work to create land management policies that work for Colorado, including my Active Forest Management, Wildfire Prevention, and Community Protection Act. My legislation is the most comprehensive forest management bill in decades, and it will prevent wildfires, invest in rural economies, remove beetle-killed trees that serve as kindling, and protect the environment.

With 15 world-class athletes, Colorado’s Third Congressional District has more athletes competing in the Winter Olympics than any other District in the country.
I want to be crystal clear about this: I believe China is actively participating in slavery, forced sterilization, and genocide. They should not be hosting the 2022 Winter Olympics. That being said, Team USA is on the ground in China and opening ceremonies happened today, so I’m going to make sure those competing for the greatest country on earth know we’re cheering for them and that we have their back.
As expected, Colorado is strongly represented in freestyle skiing, snowboarding, ski jumping, cross country skiing, and nordic combined. I’ll be cheering on these hometown heroes as they go to China and beat the commies!

It was great to talk to over 8,000 constituents in the first “Call With Your Congresswoman” of 2022. We discussed my 2021 accomplishments and what I have planned for next year. In case you missed it, here are some highlights: - My office has worked on 655 cases for constituents as they’ve encountered issues with federal agencies and secured more than $400,000 in federal benefits to which they were entitled.
- Held over 460 meetings with constituents and hosted 62 mobile office hours throughout the District.
- Secured $13 million for the U.S. Forest Service to address bark beetle infestations that have ravaged Colorado and contributed to catastrophic wildfires.
- Introduced a bill and led a pressure campaign that resulted in the Biden administration dropping its plan to give illegal immigrants separated at the border $450,000 checks.
- Led the bipartisan charge and worked with Governor Polis as well as Senators Hickenlooper and Bennet to keep the Bureau of Land Management headquarters in Grand Junction after extremists wanted to move it to the Swamp. As a result, Grand Junction will be the Bureau’s Western Headquarters and 36 good-paying jobs will stay there, up from 16 initially announced by the Biden administration.
- Received an “A” rating and 100% Liberty Score from Conservative Review and the Freedom Fighter Award and 100% FreedomWorks Score because I voted conservative, just the way I promised you I would.
- Received a 100% National Right to Life score and an A+ from the Susan B. Anthony List because I voted to protect life.
On the call, I answered questions from constituents and also asked a few poll questions. Here are the results: 92% of respondents said that Biden should spend more time defending America’s borders than foreign borders and 95% of respondents said that Biden should pick the next Supreme Court justice based on their qualifications, not their skin color or gender.

Instead of coming up with a plan to address the border crisis, Biden is busy shipping illegal aliens around the country on ghost flights and buses. He’s turned the entire nation into a border state, and everywhere is experiencing the threat of illegal immigration. Instead of investigating cartels, Biden is using resources to investigate the Border Patrol Agent who used his reins to maintain his horse. The House Freedom Caucus is done playing games. We are demanding answers, so we held a hearing with border security experts.
Also this week, 80 of my colleagues and I called on the Biden administration to stop shipping illegal aliens throughout the United States and demanded answers about the Biden administration’s failed Catch and Release program.
Additionally, I am working to bring back proven policies like building the wall, stopping “catch and release,” and reinstating the “remain in Mexico” policy with my Secure the Southern Border Act and the No Amnesty Act.

Instead of competing with China, Nancy Pelosi's COMPETES Act sends $8 billion of taxpayer money to Beijing after being laundered by an unaccountable U.N. climate change slush fund that has already given over a hundred million dollars to China. Republicans tried to fix the problem through commonsense amendments preventing China from accessing that money, but Democrats voted them down. Instead of addressing concerns through bipartisan cooperation, Democrats’ tired solution was the same as it always is: just throw more money at the problem with no accountability.
If Democrats were serious about competing with China, they would reverse Biden’s decision to cancel energy leases and critical mineral mining leases. Instead of importing our natural resources from countries under China’s malign influence, America should take the lead and produce American minerals and American energy in America. My top goal on the House Committee on Natural Resources is to put Colorado and America first—and that starts with using domestic resources.
I am tough on China, but this bill was not. I co-sponsored the BEAT China Act, which will create lasting American dominance by bringing manufacturing and jobs back to American soil. That’s putting America first.

The Durango Herald, Rep. Lauren Boebert Pays Tribute to Former Sheriff Duke Schirard
“‘For 20 years, Sheriff Schirard fought the good fight, and he finished his race well,’ Boebert said in her speech on the House floor. ‘His watch may be over, but the community he protected will forever be better because of his efforts day in and day out. While others ran away from danger, he ran toward it and woke up with courage each and every day to serve and protect his community.’

Grand Junction Daily Sentinel, Boebert Joins Tour of BLM Lands to Discuss Issues Plaguing Open Spaces “‘I work very, very closely with the Bureau of Land Management, with the Forest Service, and any opportunity to have boots on the ground and encounter the lands that we’re making decisions about managing, it’s something that I’m eager to sign up for,’ Boebert said. ‘I love these guys. (BLM Northwest District Manager) Elijah (Waters) is great. I was just with him in Meeker yesterday.’”

If you have an issue with the VA, IRS, Social Security Administration, or any other federal agency, please get in touch with my office, and we’ll get to work on your behalf. Last year, my office worked on 655 cases for Coloradans and returned over $400,000 to the people of Colorado’s Third Congressional District.
It’s the honor of my life to serve Colorado’s Third District, and as you can tell, I’ve been busy. I’ll continue to work hard to defend the Constitution, reduce government waste, and introduce legislation fixing real problems Americans are facing.
