An Update on Our
40th Anniversary Supporters Summit

As you know, 2022 marks 40 years since Lew and Mardi Rockwell established the Mises Institute at their kitchen table! We planned to hold a very special event in Vienna this coming October, celebrating that beautiful city and the remarkable Austrian school economists it produced. So many of you joined us for the 35th anniversary gala in New York City, and we were excited to join all of you in visiting Mises's beloved Wien.

Unfortunately, Austria continues to require vaccine passports and PCR tests for almost everyone traveling to the country, and to enter into most public places. Masks are still required, and some businesses remain closed. The general atmosphere is not welcoming.

We decided these restrictions were unworkable for many of our Supporters, and would detract from the enjoyment of the event. Accordingly, we are making arrangements for an October event at a beautiful resort setting in Arizona—details forthcoming very soon.

Covid rules in Austria could change, of course, as other European nations such as England and Denmark lift their restrictions. But we are not comfortable with venue contracts and deposits, or with asking you to book flights and hotels.

We regret missing Vienna, but we look forward to seeing all of you in the desert this fall!
