Do you know any atheists or humanists in office?

John,

I wanted to reach out one more time, to see if you could help us identify atheists or humanists who hold elected office in your local government.

You don’t need to have all of their information. Just share whatever you know on this short form, and I’ll take it from there.

The truth is, it’s becoming increasingly stressful for atheists and humanists to hold elected office.

Christian Nationalists have targeted local and state governments, pushing for books to be banned in schools and targeting election officials for upholding democratic processes.

If we want an America that’s safer, saner, and stronger, we need to support and encourage freethinking elected officials who are working hard to defend the separation of church and state and fighting back against all efforts to misuse religion to harm people.

Thanks for your help, and if you’re interested, here is a list of the atheist and humanist elected officials we know

Ron

Hi John,

As Christian Nationalists work overtime to recruit and install pro-Trump sycophants to elected office, there’s something free and easy you can do to help counter these forces.

Let me explain real quick.

Right now, atheists and humanists who hold elected office face prejudice and attacks from religious-backed entities. We’ve seen this most recently as angry mobs of Christian Nationalists attack school board members for doing their job defending the teaching of history, preventing book bans, and enforcing mask mandates.

We actively work to support these elected officials, to back them up, and encourage them so they will continue to hold firm and seek re-election. Here is a list of the atheists and humanist elected officials we know. But with over 500,000 local and state offices, it’s difficult for us to keep our roster up to date with nontheist officials who could use our support.

That’s where you come in:

Will you tell us the names of elected officials in your district, county, or state, who you believe identify with our nontheist community? Just fill out this quick form and we’ll take it from there.

Atheists and humanists, and our allies, stand as a xxxxxx against an energized Christian Nationalist movement. People like Jamie Raskin, who co-chairs the Congressional Freethought Caucus and sits on the January 6th Committee. He’s been brilliant and relentless in seeking accountability for those responsible for the January 6 insurrection.

We work hard to support elected officials who identify with our community, but there are many champions unknown to us at the local level, who are taking on a torrent of Christian Nationalist fueled rage.

Help us support these atheist and humanist officials by letting us know who they are. All it takes is just a minute to fill out this form and let us know who you believe may be an atheist or humanist elected official.

This is going to be an incredibly consequential election year, and we must do all we can to support those secular champions who are defending the rights of all people from anti-democratic, religious tyranny.

Thank you for all you do.
