Dear Ambassadors and Supporters, 

As Program Director at the 5 Gyres Institute, I have the unique experience of working with our global Ambassador network, now over 1,300 Ambassadors in 45 U.S. states and 66 countries! 

Passionate about ending plastic pollution, this network connects digitally with like-minded individuals around the world but they’ve never had the chance to meet in person. This is where you come in!

These dedicated and inspiring leaders desperately want to collaborate, so we listened! In 2020, we are bringing our amazing Ambassadors together for our first ever Ambassador Summit. In staying true to our values of inclusivity and accessibility to all, we will be offering scholarships for Ambassadors needing support, but we need your help to make this opportunity possible.

Each of our ambassadors is incredible and unique like Erika, a marathon swimmer who completed two long distance swims totaling 34 miles raising over $9,000 for 5 Gyres and Cecilia, a beach cleanup organizer from Mingas por el Mar (Communities for the Sea), who joined our 2019 expedition and ran successful TrashBlitzes in Ecuador and the Galapagos, using the data to support local policy change. 

By bringing our ambassadors together for the first time, we have the opportunity to empower, inspire, educate, and transform the interested into the passionate through hands-on trainings and activities. The knowledge and skills they’ll gain will amplify our efforts in reducing plastic pollution worldwide.
