John– While Build Back Better has come to a grinding halt in the Senate, SEEC members are not letting up the fight.
The Build Back Better Act would be the largest action on climate in the history of this country. It would expand solar and wind power, incentivize electric vehicle purchases, and help cover the cost of switching from fossil fuel plants to renewable energy sources. The bill alone would get our country halfway to our 2030 emissions-reduction pledge under the Paris Agreement – the equivalent of taking all the cars in the U.S. off the road for a year. This is a once-in-a-decade opportunity to make a lasting impact on climate change.
That’s why frontline House Democrats, led by SEEC member Rep. Mike Levin, have signed a letter to President Biden urging him to pass the climate investments within the Build Back Better Act.
The letter insists Biden work with the Senate to get these historic investments on climate change passed immediately. As Rep. Levin stated: “These provisions are necessary for our districts and what constituents are demanding.”
This bill would be the greatest single step of progress in our history, and we can’t let it fail. Will you pitch in today so SEEC members can save BBB and pass the greatest climate change legislation in history? [[link removed]]

These House Democrats, including SEEC member Katie Porter, are on the frontlines in the 2022 midterm elections – their seats are the most at-risk of flipping in November. Their leadership is vital to combating climate change, especially as temperatures continue to rise and we near a turning point of irrevocable damage.
Despite representing the most at-risk districts, these frontline members are putting it all on the line for BBB. Because they know a secret that we know too: Fighting for the climate is good policy and good politics.
But all of that is in danger: Joe Manchin has personally declared this week that Build Back Better is “dead” – despite the broad support these climate investments have with the public.
That’s why we can’t let up the pressure, John. We must continue supporting SEEC members for their work on climate change. Can you help with a donation to let them know you’re standing with them at this pivotal moment? [[link removed]]
