Thanks good talk.
Hey John,
What a whirlwind life has been the last two weeks. As you know I was
hard at work preparing to film my second hour special in Philadelphia
last week. And if you don't know, you haven't been reading my emails,
which stings a little but then again, it doesn't sting that much. So
many of you came out to my prep sets, which meant a lot to me. And
then I was blown away and so touched at how many of you came from far
and wide to the actual filming in Philly. From as far flung as Maine,
Texas, Michigan, even Colorado a bunch of you took time out of your
lives to be there for me for this big event. And we had such a good
time partying and laughing afterward at food bars, including one in
Downtown Chinatown, which is a great inside joke for us Mad Ones.
(Check out the photos below.) The tapings were two of my favorite
shows I've had. I can't wait for you to see the finished product. We
are just about to begin the edit process and then figure out where and
how we want to release it. So much work went into it, and then so fast
it was all over, and I felt like I was floating. Because I was.
Literally. In one of the few places you can.
You see Carmel and I took Saturday through Monday off for a rare
vacation, we took an Uber from Philly to Manhattan for a couple days
R&R in NYC. We didn't do much, except eat everything in the hotel
vending machine until we fell asleep, eat too much Joe's Pizza, order
way too much ice cream (including an ice cream Boba tea combo, I
literally ordered three separate ice creams and finished most of it),
and take an Uber to Time Square for a Halal meat wrap. (My attempts to
eat less meat are failing. As are my repeated attempts to ever retain
whether it's Time Square or Times Square. As my dad always says, "Does
it know my name?") But we did do three things that were not food
related. It snowed for a few minutes and we happened to be outside, so
we got a photo, which means it was all worth it. When we got to town I
texted a friend who invited me to his friend's 40th birthday party
starting right then, inside a water tower in Brooklyn. Gorgeous view
and very unique venue. (They drained the water ahead of time.) And for
the ultimate R&R, I took Carmel to one of my favorite places in the
world, a subterranean spa that has all kinds of tubs of different
temperatures, mostly hot, but including a 50 degree cold one that I
put my controlling my body temperature skills to the test in for about
five straight minutes. And one of them is a float pool. The only place
you can float outside of a tiny depravation chamber, anywhere I've
seen outside of the Dead Sea in Israel. (I originally didn't
capitalize Dead Sea just then, but then remembered I capitalized
Boba, so I went back. Felt disrespectful not to.) A salt saturated hot
tub with underwater speakers playing relaxing spa music, and you just
lost yourself in it. You float on your back effortlessly. And it was
just the best. Exactly what I needed.
And then we flew back home and it was right back to the grind. I did a
set of new material two days later, and did an epic two plus hour
Gleib Off the Top with special guest Adam Ray, live from Australia,
there shooting season 2 of Young Rock on NBC. He plays Vince McMahon
in it, and he also plays Jay Leno in the new Hulu show Pam & Tommy
about the infamous sex tape. I auditioned for that role. Really wanted
it. Worked real hard on it. Was sent to producers. Adam got it. I
decided to speak to him again after being bitter for the last three
months. I'm kidding. It couldn't have gone to a better guy. He's a
dear friend and so talented. And full circle, we got to do dueling
Lenos during GOTT. (The consensus in my mind was that mine is better
and Hollywood is unfair.) KIDDING! Now that the show is out, I'm
gonna post my Leno audition on my Patreon next week. You can
join HERE ( [link removed] ). And join me from
anywhere in the world for the next “GLEIB OFF THE TOP: Crowd Work &
Improvised Madness” virtual comedy show THIS SATURDAY at 5p/8e. Get
a ticket HERE (

doing one every Saturday this month, and have some surprises I'm
working on for them. I think you'll enjoy.
I’m also doing a post show VIP intimate video hang after the show
this Saturday, where I’ll answer your questions, and I may even tell
the story of the very weird, super weird thing that happened
the day I turned in the Pam and Tommy audition. You can get a regular
or VIP ticket HERE (
[link removed] ). And if
you're in LA, I'm doing my once a year "Gleib and Friends" show at the
Hollywood Improv Lab on Friday, Feb. 11 where I book a lot of my
buddies to come perform with me. Get a ticket HERE (

Thanks for all your support, always. And no matter what's going on in
your life, let me quote Modest Mouse and remind you "We'll all float
on okay." I'll also quote Minnie Mouse and say "I'm exactly Mickey
Mouse, just in a dress and heels."
