** Dear Constituent,
------------------------------------------------------------
A warm welcome to Denton and Reddish Weekly News!

I hope that you've had a brilliant week.

It's a bit of a shorter newsletter this week. On Tuesday, the Public Inquiry into the proposed Bredbury Industrial Estate expansion opened, and that has filled the vast majority of my time!

I have, however, written a comprehensive update on how the process is going to keep residents in the loop, so scroll down to find out more.

Bredbury Industrial Estate: Public Inquiry Update

**
------------------------------------------------------------

đź–‹ GWYNNEBLOG: As mentioned, this week the Public Inquiry into the proposed expansion of Bredbury Industrial Estate opened.

I've been fighting against this proposal for years now. Our Tame Valley is a precious green space, for communities right across my constituency, and I won't stand by and let it be destroyed.

Many thanks to all those, including Team Denton South ([link removed]) Cllrs, who have given their views during the inquiry so far.

I'm a Rule 6 Party to the Inquiry, which means that I get to make my case and cross-examine witnesses throughout the process. I'm very grateful to the Planning Inspector for giving me the opportunity to make my case about something I feel so passionately about.

Click here ([link removed]) for a day-to-day breakdown of how the Inquiry has been progressing.

📺 WATCH: So now we know, there were parties, they did fail to observe the standards expected of the entire population, there were failures of leadership. We’ve had bravado from the dispatch box from Boris Johnson when we deserved humility.

📺 WATCH: On Monday In Westminster Hall, there was a debate on the future of our NHS following the petition opposing the Health and Care Bill hitting more than 100,000 signatures. Our NHS was struggling before the pandemic. COVID has worsened its position. We need a Government committed to protecting and rebuilding Britain’s greatest institution.

Andrew in the media

đź“° READ: Thanks to PoliticsHome ([link removed]) for giving me the opportunity to write about my experiences with Long Covid, how much it has impacted my life, and why the Government must start taking the condition seriously.

You can read the full article here ([link removed]) .

đź“° READ: Thank you to Manchester Evening News ([link removed]) for taking up my ongoing battle with the Government to get the structural and safety problems caused by a botched ÂŁ2.7m Carillon refurbishment at Russell Scott Primary School ([link removed]) in Denton fixed.

I’m not going to let this drop. If “levelling-up” means anything then fixing this school’s issues has to be a top priority. I just will not take “no” for an answer from Ministers. The campaign continues…

đź“° READ: In this week's Tameside Reporter, I wrote about the Government's 'levelling-up' white paper, and why I think it represents a missed opportunity.

We urgently need to level-up neglected communities up and down the country. But we need actual policy, and actual investment, instead of yet more waffle.
