For a lot of veterans who have served overseas, the road to recovery happens on the trails of our national parks.

There’s even a phrase for it: it’s called “walking off the war.”

For years, VoteVets has been fighting and lobbying for Congress to pass legislation that would give veterans and Gold Star Families free lifetime access to national parks.

Earlier this month, it became law — permanently — as part of the National Defense Authorization Act.

This law only passed because of years of work led by veterans and military family members. We’re proud to have played a role in that fight.

So today - we want to do something important:

Sign VoteVets' card thanking the veterans and military family members who have contacted their members of Congress over the years to guarantee veterans and Gold Star families have free access to our national parks.
