Tuesday marked the first day of Black History Month, a time to honor and reflect on the numerous achievements and contributions of Black Americans who have shaped our nation. Al-Qurayshi, who took over as the leader of ISIS after Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed in a 2019 U.S. raid, coordinated the group's global terror operations and directly oversaw ISIS attempts to reconstitute in Iraq and Syria, according to senior U.S. officials.
New York Post: GOP lawmakers demand DOJ to address increase in police violence. A group of GOP lawmakers led by Rep. John Katko (R-NY), the top Republican on the House Homeland Security Committee, is calling for the Department of Justice to provide answers on how it plans to address the uptick in violence against law enforcement officials.

Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground, has introduced a trio of bills in recent weeks that would take aim at states such as Washington that pass “bad” police reform legislation. The proposed legislation also authorizes further investments in local police departments.
