Dear John,
It's Heart Month and that means we are busy! WomenHeart Champions are fanned out across the country speaking to media, holding virtual community events, engaging on social media and more - telling their stories and spreading support and awareness about heart disease in women.
As we wear red today (and most days, to be honest!), we are just a few days into our annual #29DaysOfHeart campaign ([link removed] February is #HeartMonth and #BlackHistoryMonth, so we celebrate both as we shine a spotlight on heart disease in African American women.
While the pandemic laid bare health disparities that have existed for decades - including the disproportionate impact of heart disease on Black women - through this campaign, we are trying to have an impact by lifting up Black women's stories and their voices. Today we will host the first in a four-week series of interviews LIVE on Facebook ([link removed] Twitter ([link removed] LinkedIn ([link removed] and YouTube ([link removed] - tune in each Friday at 1:00pm ET / 10:00am PT.
