Dear Friend,
Today our lawsuit in support of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) goes before the U.S. Supreme Court. There’s a lot at stake for 700,000+ DACA recipients and the communities they live in, as well as for the hundreds of thousands of young people who can’t apply for DACA protections.
DACA recipients are part of our schools, our offices, our hospitals, our restaurants. They educate our children, are active in our communities, run businesses, and have built their lives here. Today’s hearing is a pivotal moment for them and for immigrant justice, as the Trump administration tries to deny DACA recipients the only home they’ve ever known.
Not only does the administration's effort to end DACA hurt families and communities, it overlooks the many contributions DACA recipients have made in this country. DACA recipients pay taxes, contribute to Social Security, build businesses and create jobs, and grow the economy. We rely on them every day, and this administration is telling them they’re not welcome.
Today we’re before the Supreme Court with our plaintiffs, Martín, Antonio, Eliana, Carolina, Carlos, and Mariano, to fight for them and everyone in our communities. Our coalition is rallying in cities across the country to support DACA recipients and their families and to tell everyone that their Home Is Here.
The overwhelming majority of the country is on our side and, regardless of the outcome of today’s hearing, our community is positioned to win and grow stronger.
We’re proud to be in this fight with you. Please show your support by donating.
Sincerely,
Araceli Martínez-Olguín
