Covid Guidance Withdrawn
The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY) has announced that the Covid-19 guidance for the youth work sector has been formally withdrawn, allowing the youth sector to now deliver services in line with the limited public health measures still in place. The Importance of Being (Digitally) Literate

Regularisation Scheme for Undocumented People
Submissions for the regularisation scheme for undocumented people living in Ireland are open. The scheme aims to bring rights and justice to residents, including 3,000 children and young people, who call Ireland home. We urge the youth work sector to play an important role in this by linking young undocumented people and their families to the support that MRCI have in place.

One World Week Training Workshops
To meet demand following the success of One World Week last November, we will be providing additional One World Week training workshops until the end of February 2022. These are aimed at young people and youth workers, and will facilitate discussions around the theme of “Global Identity: Collective Actions.”

ECO-UNESCO’s Young Environmentalist Awards are open for registration until 20th February 2022. The awards programme is open to any group of young people in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland from 10-18 years of age.

Irish Youth Wind Ensemble
The Irish Youth Wind Ensemble Summer Residential course 2022 will take place in University of Limerick from Sunday, 24 to Saturday, 30 July 2022. Auditions will take place in Cork on Saturday, 5 March 2022 and in Dublin on Saturday, 12 and Sunday, 13 March 2022. The closing date for your audition application is Friday, 25 February 2022.

Gaisce features on RTE’s Change Makers TV series
Gaisce – The President’s Award was delighted to feature in the latest episode of RTE’s Change Makers series which aired on Monday January 24th. The episode focused on the Story Exchange Project - a unique collaboration between Gaisce-The President’s Award , Mountjoy Prison Progression Unit and Maynooth University utilising Narrative 4’s Story Exchange tool.

Late Late Show Funding
The Community Foundation have announced the disbursement of the Late Late Show Funds, through two rounds, the first has now opened and is inviting applications from community groups and organisations. It will provide grants of between €5,000 and €20,000.

Narrative 4 Schools Initiative to Foster and Celebrate Empathy, Kindness and Connection
A new national award scheme has been launched that aims to recognise and celebrate post-primary schools that promote empathy, kindness and connection among students and staff. The initiative being rolled out to schools across the country by Narrative 4 Ireland, an empathy education organisation that has trained hundreds of teachers and youth workers to deliver an evidence-based teaching method that fosters connection, empathy and encourages positive relationships in the classroom.
