John — we’ve warned that with the Supreme Court on the verge of overturning Roe , states could start passing legislation that restricts the right to safe, legal abortion.

It’s beginning:

"Pennsylvania Senators introduce abortion ban bill" — CBS 21 News, Jan 25

Pennsylvania Republicans have tried to ram multiple anti-abortion bills through the state legislature, including a six-week abortion ban — before many people know they’re pregnant. Now, with Roe more in danger than ever before, extremist legislators feel even more emboldened to strip away an individual’s right to choose.

Let’s make one thing clear: the GOP’s attacks on reproductive freedoms are not rooted in medicine or science. They’re rooted in the desire to control women’s bodies.

It is why passing the Women’s Health Protection Act is more important than ever.

The House of Representatives passed the Women’s Health Protection Act last summer, marking the first time in history that the House has passed legislation designed specifically to protect the right to abortion access nationwide.

Now, it’s waiting for a vote in the U.S. Senate — and we must move to get it signed into law immediately.

With abortion rights on the line, we can’t waste another day without federal protections. Will you sign on to our petition now to demand the Senate pass the Women’s Health Protection Act ? [[link removed]]

As a physician who specialized in women’s health, Val has sat down with patients facing really difficult decisions. Those decisions must stay between a patient and their doctor. Full stop.

Thanks,
