This week marks the start of Black History Month, a time to celebrate the incredible history and achievements of Black Americans.
Black history is American history. At this moment when there is so much effort to distort and deny the past, it is essential that we continue to celebrate the incredible achievements Black Americans have made throughout our history in the face of hatred and systemic oppression.
This hatred and systemic racism still persist, as Black Americans continue to face discrimination in housing, employment, the criminal justice system, voter suppression efforts, and more.
Let’s all recommit ourselves to creating a fairer, more just future for us all. I look forward to working alongside you as we do.
In solidarity,
Sara
