Village Board adopts 2022-2025 Strategic Plan

Priorities include financial stewardship, infrastructure investment

The Village Board at its most recent meeting adopted a strategic plan to help guide its top priorities over the next three years.

The strategic plan identifies six priorities: financial stewardship, balanced development, recruiting and retaining high-quality employees, and providing safe and reliable infrastructure, including the expansion of Wolf?s Crossing and establishing a new water source for the Village.

?As a board, we are committed to make Oswego an even better place to call home,? Village President Troy Parlier said. ?The new strategic plan defines that vision, focusing on building the Village?s financial strength and making the right investments in our infrastructure. As a growing community, we also want to know that growth is serving us best, and that we have the right staff to help make things happen in our community.?

The strategic plan, which sets objectives and targets for the 2022 to 2025 time horizon, was developed over several meetings of the Board in the fall and early winter. The process included establishing the Board?s vision for the community, identifying the top priorities and defining success for each priority.

Two major projects already underway are Wolf?s Crossing and establishing a new water source. Over the next three years, the strategic plan aims to complete the Wolf?s Crossing improvements at Harvey Road, as well as have a funding plan in place for the next phase of the project. Similarly, progress on a new water source will focus on setting the stage for a successful transition. Key steps include securing necessary regulatory and legislative approvals, as well as establishing a funding strategy.

The Board will continue to review progress on the strategic plan every six months. The full plan is available on the Village?s website at www.oswegoil.org.
