Ilhan’s race was a top target because she works every day to challenge the systems of power and corruption to deliver tangible victories for working people. She’s a threat to the status quo.
Ilhan just kicked off her re-election campaign, and she is bound to face another expensive race — she’s already upsetting the corporate interests hell-bent on stopping the bold, progressive agenda that Ilhan, me, and other progressives in Congress are fighting to pass. And Republicans’ bad-faith and racist attacks will only ramp up.
Ilhan’s campaign, like ours, is powered by the people — so she’s counting on grassroots support to prepare for the fights ahead and keep up her work for progress.
Unlike corporate Democrats, Ilhan’s no. 1 priority is making a meaningful difference in the lives of working people in Minnesota and across the country.
Ilhan will always put people over profit, because like me and so many other people in our country, she knows what it’s like to live paycheck to paycheck and have student loan debt. She’s going to the mat to make sure Democrats deliver an agenda that represents the progress people voted for — from investing in bold climate action and affordable housing, to expanding Medicare.
We need Ilhan’s voice in Congress to help advance the fight for racial, economic, social, and environmental justice for all, which is why it’s so important that she’s ready for everything corporate lobbyists and GOP mega-donors throw at her in the coming months.
