Disgraced former President Donald Trump recently told a crowd of anti-vax/anti-mask lunatics that, if elected in 2024, he would pardon January 6 Capitol rioters who have been convicted of crimes relating to the insurrection.

Trump has said repeatedly that he intends to run again in 2024; but he has also linked his potential candidacy with how well the GOP performs this midterm election. Democrats face historical headwinds for retaining control of the House—but redistricting has presented some unexpected opportunities to survive what could be a good year for Republicans.
