I'm so excited to introduce you to my running mate and choice for Lieutenant Governor: Shannon Sneed.

I'm honored to have Shannon by my side in this race. She's worked hard both in the nonprofit sector and Baltimore City Council to address issues facing the community. With Shannon on our team, we'll be more than ready to tackle Maryland’s biggest problems on Day 1 in office.

Like me, Shannon's dedicated her career to jobs, justice, and opportunity. After a successful career in broadcast news, she left to serve her community in a different way, working in the Mayor's Office to help people across Baltimore find jobs and recruiting mentors with Big Brothers, Big Sisters.

In 2014, Shannon graduated from Emerge Maryland – an organization that works to prepare Democratic women to run for public office. Two years later, she defeated a two-time incumbent for her seat on the Baltimore City Council and immediately went to work as a champion for working families – often with her young daughter, Rae, in tow. A battle-tested leader, Shannon proudly pushed for transparency in city government; spearheaded efforts to help victims of police brutality heal from trauma; fought to expand accommodations for working moms; and protected workers' rights.

With your support, Shannon and I will continue to fight for jobs, justice, and equal opportunity in Annapolis. We will make history as the first Latino and first Black woman elected to statewide office in Maryland's history. And we will flip this seat from red to blue for the first time in eight years.
