Hi friend,

Last week Storm Ana tore through southwest Africa, damaging critical infrastructure in Malawi, Madagascar and Mozambique, and injuring up to 20,000 people.

Mozambique has already been at the centre of one of the biggest debt scandals this decade, which means when climate disasters hit, it’s even harder to cope.

Just before Christmas, the London branch of the bank, Credit Suisse was finally fined £147 million, and forced to cancel £150 million of Mozambican debt for its role in fraudulent loans made over eight years ago ([link removed]) .

But unless we act, the people of Mozambique won’t see a penny of that £147 million fine. And now, in light of Storm Ana, the fight for justice is needed more than ever. Join the people of Mozambique, and add your name to the call for justice.

I'll add my name to the call for justice! ([link removed])

Denise Namburete from the Mozambique Budget Monitoring Forum told us:

Together, let's stand in solidarity with the ordinary people of Mozambique.

Best wishes,
Eva Watkinson
