Houston Republican Rep. Dan Crensaw says, “voter suppression is not happening.”
In his own state, Republicans have passed laws severely restricting who can vote by mail and closed polling places and ballot drop-off sites.
We know voter suppression in Texas is real – and you can fight back, right now.
Thousands of Six PAC donors have already given to Jessica Cisneros, a human rights lawyer and voting rights champion who is running for Congress in Texas’s Rio Grande Valley.
Crenshaw calls voter suppression a “myth.”
But with weeks to go until the March 1 primary, a rash of applications to vote by mail have been rejected because of new Republican-passed laws.
To apply for a mail-in ballot, you must provide a Social Security number or a driver’s license number that matches what was on file when you first registered to vote. And seniors are finding that they might not have the same driver’s license they did 30 or 40 years ago.
That’s just one of the ways Texas Republicans are making it harder to vote. That’s why we need Texas Democrats like Jessica Cisneros to win their races for Congress and pass voting rights laws.
Thanks for standing up.
