Dear John,
Have you heard the exciting news? Last week trailblazing labor attorney Shannon Liss-Riordan officially launched her campaign to be the people’s champion as the next Massachusetts Attorney General.
Shannon also received the first major endorsement of any candidate in the race, earning the support of the statewide union Iron Workers Local 7:
Shannon’s announcement made headlines across the state. Check out what they’re saying about her below:
'"We need someone to push our legal system to be better, to enforce and reform our laws… The role of the attorney general is to be an advocate and a resource for the people, to be the people’s law firm, and deliver meaningful change. My life’s work has been taking on the biggest threats on behalf of the people who need it the most. . . . Now I’m ready to do more.’” - Shannon Liss-Riordan
Shannon Liss-Riordan, at her outdoor campaign launch at the Iron Workers Local 7 hall, said, “‘I’ve been called the workers’ champion… Now I’m ready to be Massachusetts’ champion.’”
Labor attorney Shannon Liss-Riordan will officially launch her campaign for attorney general on Tuesday at the Ironworkers Local 7 hall in South Boston and the union will also endorse her candidacy.
Workers’ rights lawyer Shannon Liss-Riordan announced her bid to replace Democratic Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey, who is running for governor. She has spent her legal career representing workers taken advantage of by their employers and has taken on corporate giants like Starbucks, Uber, and Whole Foods Market. She has also represented Black Boston police officers, who said the city police department’s promotion exam was discriminatory.
Shannon Liss-Riordan, Brookline labor attorney known for taking on big corporations and supporter of the Coalition to Protect Workers’ Rights, which opposes ballot initiatives aimed at blocking app-based drivers from being classified as employees, is running for Massachusetts attorney general.
Shannon Liss-Riordan, labor attorney known for taking on gig economy companies for allegedly misclassifying their drivers as independent contractors, is running for Massachusetts attorney general.
Shannon’s career has been defined by taking on big challenges and delivering real results. She's won cases that not only put money back in employees’ pockets but pushed our legal system to fairly and equally serve the people. She has proven that she will turn her promises into action. But, in order for her to do that, she needs some support.
Will you donate today to help Shannon deliver real results to the Commonwealth?
Thank you for your support, and keep an eye out for Shannon in the news!
