We have an important question to ask you today, John.
Everyone has a different story about why they’re excited to be part of this progressive movement. For Cori, this work is personal.
Cori has been evicted and unhoused so she knows that affordable housing isn’t just a nice idea, it’s a necessity.
Cori was an activist in Ferguson and experienced and witnessed the pain of police violence, so she knows that defunding the police and investing in our communities isn’t just a catchphrase, but an urgent call to save Black lives.
Cori knows what it’s like to need abortion care, so she understands how important it is we protect access to reproductive health care in our country.
These are the struggles that Cori and so many of us have lived. These struggles are why Cori ran for office and why we’re working every day to create a new kind of politics rooted in love and compassion. So today we want to ask you to share your own story, John. Will you share with us why you’re proud to be a part of our anti-racist, progressive movement?
These stories — your story, John — are what drive this movement and inspire us to be in this fight.
Cori has always made it a priority to hear from community members and supporters about what matters most to them.
She knows first-hand what it’s like to be ignored by our elected officials — to be told that the challenges we’re facing don’t matter. For too long, our leaders in Congress have used their power to enrich themselves, but now with leaders like Cori, we’re bringing people-power back to the House.
That’s why it’s so important to Cori and our team that we hear your story and what personally drives you to be a part of this movement. So what’s your story, John? We hope we can read about it tonight.
Together,
Team Cori
