Last Wednesday, Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer announced his retirement, providing President Biden with his first opportunity to reshape the nation’s highest court and our Democratic majority with the responsibility of confirming a new Supreme Court Justice.

First, we’d like to say thank you to Justice Breyer for his nearly three decades of service. During his tenure, he was a key vote in many landmark decisions including protecting same-sex marriage throughout our country, upholding critical provisions of Obamacare, and writing major opinions in support of maintaining access to abortion.

We are grateful for the perspective Justice Breyer brought to the Supreme Court during the last 27 years.

As the confirmation process for a new Supreme Court Justice is set to begin in the next few weeks, we look forward to President Biden’s announcement of his nominee.

Confirming the eventual nominee will be challenging in the face of an obstructionist Republican party. But we have President Biden’s back. Will you sign our petition today and tell President Biden you are in full support, too?
