Team,

This Black History Month marks the 67th year since Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat, sparking the civil rights movement. Commemorating countless important people and events, Black History Month remembers the efforts in abolishing segregation, discrimination, and disenfranchisement throughout the United States.

Figures such as Dr. King, Malcolm X, Rosa Parks, and communities of unnamed activists were committed to upholding the country’s founding promise: that all people are created equal. The America we live in today exists because of the will, bravery, and commitment of those who came before us. Yet their work is incomplete.

Bias and discrimination still hold back justice and equality. States across the country are passing laws that make it harder for Americans, particularly Black and Brown Americans, to vote, and Congress stands powerless. This must change.

The arc of the moral universe can bend towards justice, but only if you help bend it.
