VoteVets

Friends —

See this story? It should make your blood boil.

VoteVets tweet: This is reprehensible and unacceptable. Texas has prevented a WWII Veteran from casting a ballot in the nation he proudly served.

In state after state Republicans are passing legislation that makes it harder to vote, and drawing lines that let them pick their voters, instead of the other way around.

Ask a service member why they served.

Ask a military family why their loved one served.

The answer is almost always “to protect and defend our democracy.”

Congress may have failed to expand voting rights, but those who fought and served — like the veteran in Texas above — need us to keep trying until we get it done. Add your name if you agree:

Sign VoteVets’ petition - tell Congress to keep working on legislation that expands the right to vote and makes it easier for ALL Americans to make their voices heard in our elections.

Too many people fought and died to watch Republicans systematically take away the right to vote. It’s a damn shame.
