Writer David French joins National Constitution Center President and CEO Jeffrey Rosen for a discussion on the First Amendment freedoms of speech and the press. French will also discuss his career as an author, editor, and columnist, and answer questions from participants. 

David French is a senior editor for The Dispatch, where he also co-hosts the weekly podcast Advisory Opinions. He is a columnist for Time and a senior fellow at the National Review Institute. French is the author or co-author of several books, including his most recent book Divided We Fall. He has also served as a senior writer for the National Review, president of the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, a lecturer at Cornell Law School.

Constitutional Conversations: Building the Foundations for Dialogue and Deliberation in the Classroom

Deepen your constitutional knowledge and enhance your strategies for fostering civil dialogue around constitutional questions with this workshop series presented by the National Constitution Center and hosted by the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation.

This series is scheduled for each Wednesday in February. Join us for some or all of the series.

Education Policy Panel

Saturday, February 5, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. ET

Former U.S. Secretaries of Education discuss the impact of federal education policy on ensuring equity of access to civic learning and engagement. John King, Arne Duncan, and Rod Paige will draw on their experiences and accomplishments both before, during, and after their tenure at the U.S. Department of Education. Moderated by National Constitution Center President and CEO Jeffrey Rosen.

This panel discussion is part of the NCSS 100th anniversary virtual conference.
