Team -- Today is Veterans Day.
It's a time to recognize those who risked their lives to protect us all. It's a time to honor our brave military servicemembers who remain in harm's way. And it's a time to remember our moral obligation, today and every day, to support those who served, along with their families.
We have no greater duty and responsibility as a nation than to take care of our servicemembers when they return because the battles they face don't end when they come home.
Truly honoring our brave servicemembers means ensuring they have access to the best health care available, career training, transition services, higher education, and so much more.
In the Senate, I take this duty very seriously. That's why I helped introduce legislation to get veterans the health care they deserve and to allow veteran farmers access to the services they need. And I fought to tackle homelessness among veterans and to ensure our veterans don't have to wait months before getting lifesaving treatment from the VA.
It takes incredible courage and sacrifice to safeguard this country we love, along with its people. We owe it to those who do so to honor and thank them for their bravery -- and make a commitment to stand with them in every way.
To all of you who've served this nation and to the family members who support them: thank you for your service.
You've fought for us and now, I will continue fighting for you in the Senate.
