The Republican Party of Arizona started off 2022, an election year, with a very busy January. During the first week of the month, our largest county held their meeting.
The second week, I was privileged to speak to a large crowd of patriotic Arizonans at the ReAwaken America event. The next morning was the March for Life to the State Capitol, where we joined a large gathering that was standing up for the most vulnerable among us, the unborn. Later that same day, it was my honor to address the crowd of more than 40,000 people in Florence, AZ at the Save America Rally with President Donald Trump. President Trump chose to start the year in Arizona because he knows we are the tip of the spear in the fight save America.
The next weekend the Republican Party of Arizona held a very successful Mandatory Meeting (see story below). I congratulate all of the newly elected officers – we have a formidable team to go forward to Republican victories this November. At the same time, Democrats in Arizona were censuring one of their own, a seated U.S. Senator.
Republicans are on the move, while Democrats are fighting with each other. We need to stay united to ensure victory on Election Day.
Always America First!

Republican Party of Arizona Gathers for Mandatory Meeting
On Saturday, January 22, 2022, Republican State Committeemen from across Arizona gathered for the Mandatory Meeting in Phoenix. It was an immense success.
The State Committeemen heard from many of our elected Republican officials, including State Treasurer Kimberly Yee and State Senate President Karen Fann, who updated the crowd on the status of the Arizona Audit. Members of Congress Paul Gosar, Debbie Lesko, and Andy Biggs talked about Washington, DC under Democrat control and how so much has gone wrong under the Biden administration. We are truly fortunate to have such great people representing Arizona.
Elections were held for non-statutory officers for the State Party. Congratulations to First Vice-Chair Jill Norgaard, Second Vice-Chair Nathan Jackson, Third Vice-Chair Gina Swoboda, Assistant Treasurer John Stevens, Assistant Secretary Shirley Dye, Sergeant-at-Arms Mitch Friedlander, and Assistant Sergeant-at-Arms Chris King. They were all elected either by acclamation or on the first ballot.

The new State Party board has officials from Maricopa, Pima, and rural counties. Many have impressive professional backgrounds, including service as elected legislators and as election officials. It is a formidable team that will help us achieve Republican victories this November.
Chairwoman Dr. Kelli Ward gave her report. The State Party raised more money last year, a non-election year, than the State Party often has even in election years. While the number of registered Democrat voters in our state has been falling, Republican registrations are growing. Recruitment of Precinct Committeemen is strong. In December 2020, Arizona Republicans had 4,233 Precinct Committeemen. In December 2021, it had grown to 7,150 Precinct Committeemen - that is a sixty-eight percent increase! Special thanks to our Secretary Yvonne Cahill for working with our county chairmen to compile these numbers.
Four changes to the State Party’s bylaws were approved. One limits the number of proxies a person may carry to state committee meetings and subsidiaries, including county and legislative district meetings, to three proxies. Changes included limiting the carrying of proxies to three per person for the State Party meetings. Another change was to the order of the program at state meetings, requiring that speeches by guest speakers be given after the business meeting. A third change required funds from real estate sales to be kept in a dedicated account. The fourth approved change allows for proposed amendments to the bylaws, along with reasoning and justification, to be sent electronically to members of the state committee rather than mailed.
In addition, thirteen resolutions we approved. They covered such topics as election integrity, choice in healthcare, government debt, school choice, the sanctity of life, reaffirming the Republican Party as the party of all Americans, opposing reparations for lawbreakers, and completing the border wall.
At the same time as the mandatory meeting, Arizona Democrats were busy censuring one of their own seated United States Senators. Even the media noticed that Democrats were fighting among each other, and Republicans were not. It is important that we stay united.

Arizona State Legislators Move Forward on Election Integrity and Bills Empowering Parents
The Arizona State Legislature is in session. Republican state legislators in both the House and the Senate are working hard on two critical issues: election integrity and putting parents back in charge of education.
On Monday, the Senate Government Committee passed six bills designed to improve election integrity. Included in these bills are rules that will tighten up the process related to “Federal Only” ballots and inspections of election machines, provisions that make ballot images public records, requirements that the paper used for ballots has nineteen specified anti-fraud measures included in it, and prohibitions on elections being run solely by mail.
In the House, the Education Committee passed out bills that put parents back in charge. That includes increasing parents’ rights to student records, the prohibition of sexually explicit materials in schools, and requirements on school boards to allow parents access to the school library catalog to see which books their child is checking out.
All of these bills still have a long way to go before being sent to the Governor for his signature. Without the current Republican majorities in the State House and State Senate – they would not even be heard at all.

Biden’s DHS Secretary Had Disastrous Meeting with Border Patrol Agents in Yuma, AZ
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas's meeting with Border Patrol agents in the Yuma Sector on Wednesday did not go well after he admitted the staggering number of illegal border crossings has made the agents' jobs more difficult. In an audio recording of his remarks to the agents, which was obtained by Townhall, Mayorkas conceded the massive influx of people illegally crossing into the sector, along with the rest of the southern sectors, has not been easy. Left-Wing Prosecutors Under Fire Nationwide
