Team —

Today, we honor our veterans and give thanks for the selfless courage and great sacrifice they showed in protecting this nation.

Our veterans and servicemembers make us who we are as Americans. And while we may never truly serve them in the way they served us, it’s our duty to try. That’s what I do every single day I’m in the Senate.

From ensuring our military servicemembers and their families have the tools to succeed when they come home to standing up and doing right by those who have already returned.

As public servants, we owe our veterans access to quality health care, higher education, transition services, and so much more. But too often, Washington doesn’t get the job done.

Homelessness continues to rise among veterans. Brave trans servicemembers are banned from serving the country they love. And access to quality health care is almost impossible to come by.

Members of our military leave everything behind, including the people they love, to protect our nation — knowing they may never make it back. We owe them our freedom and they deserve our respect. That begins by doing better.

I won’t rest until our veterans and servicemembers are treated with the honor and dignity they have earned.

Thank you to all those who have served, and still do.
