Jack, our Constitution states no Member of Congress may serve if they "engaged in insurrection or rebellion" against the U.S. government. Yet, several Republican Members of Congress who aided and abetted the violent mob that attacked the U.S. Capitol on January 6 are still in office and, on top of that, plan to run for reelection.

Certain Members of Congress like Rep. Madison Cawthorn, aided and abetted the January 6, 2021 insurrection and continues to engage in the same dangerous conduct that led to the violent attack on our nation’s Capitol last January. This year, members like Cawthorn and others are running for reelection for the very body of government they betrayed.

On January 6, several Republican Members of Congress aided and abetted the violent mob that attacked the U.S. Capitol with the intention of stopping the legal certification of President Joe Biden's victory. And they continue to spread lies and conspiracies about these events.

People like Madison Cawthorn have no business being in elected office and should be barred from serving in Congress for life. That’s not a matter of opinion or political preference--it’s what the Constitution says.
