Dear John,
Last week, we reached out following the news that Justice Stephen Breyer will retire at the end of this term, and to preview the phenomenal women who could ascend to the Supreme Court, the highest court in the land. It is now time for us to get to work.
Today, we are launching a site that details the powerful and persuasive records of the leading candidates. Any one of them could be the next Supreme Court Justice, and we would be proud to fight for their confirmation. Learn more about these outstanding women from our affiliate Alliance for Justice.
Are you ready to put a Black woman on the Supreme Court? Support our work to make it possible.
As we saw in 2020, when we turn out, we win. We put President Biden in the White House and turned Georgia blue. None of this would have been possible without the hard work done by Black women. Black women consistently show up, more than any other demographic for the last five presidential elections. But Black women continue to be grossly underrepresented in the halls of Congress and on the federal bench.
It is time for us to show up for Black women. This is our shot.
Since the President was inaugurated, AFJ Action has worked hand in hand with the White House and Senate to double the number of Black women serving on circuit courts. We have supported their nominations with letters and calls, defended them from vicious Republicans and conservative attacks, and saluted their confirmations when the victory was secured. We also have not stopped our push to ensure that more and more Black women find their rightful place on the federal bench across our nation.
While Breyer will not step down until the end of the term, the confirmation fight has already begun. AFJ Action will be there every step of the way to bolster Democrats, fight off Republican attacks, and support this remarkable woman. Your donation will help make that work possible.
We’re ready to make her-story. Are you with us?
With gratitude, Rakim Brooks AFJ Action & Alliance for Justice |
