As I write this note, we’re 4 months away from our shot to defeat Dan Lipinski, the most conservative Democrat in Congress.
When you read about Dan Lipinski’s background, you’d think he was a Republican. He has an "A" rating with the NRA, is co-chair of the Congressional Pro-Life Caucus, and he voted against Obamacare.
I’m running for Congress because my neighbors and I deserve a real Democrat representing us in Washington, not one who votes with Donald Trump 1/3 of the time.
Some background on my opponent:
- In his 14 years in Congress, he has sponsored or co-sponsored at least 54 bills to restrict a woman's right to choose and limit access to birth control. Donald Trump thanked Lipinski by name in 2018 for his dedication to attacking a woman’s right to choose.
- Lipinski voted against Obamacare and joined Republicans calling for "repeal and replace" and recently co-sponsored a bill that would take healthcare away from one million workers.
- Lipinski voted against marriage equality and has, on multiple occasions, sponsored legislation to allow businesses and employers to discriminate against LGBTQ people.
The establishment is fighting to protect someone who’s anti-choice, anti-immigrant, anti-LGBTQ equality, and anti-Obamacare. He’s not the kind of Democrat we need.
I’m running for Congress because life has become unaffordable for too many people. The problems we face today warrant bold, aggressive action. Unlike Dan, I’m fighting for policies that will make life easier to live for working families, workers, and the middle class like Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, paid family leave, and universal child care.
My opponent is bankrolled by the D.C. establishment, corporate PACS, lobbyists and oil money. He has the DCCC to turn to for funding.
Our campaign is doing things differently. We are people powered and people funded, because the only voices that matter should be ours.
With almost a million grassroots members across the country, the PCCC is the true embodiment of the power that we can wield when we stand together and fight for change. With the support of PCCC members like you, we are one step closer to bringing real progressive leadership to Congress in Illinois 3rd District.
