[1]Charles Booker
Today is February 1st — the first day of Black History Month — and I
wanted us to take a moment to honor and uplift this important annual
observance.
In every second of every minute, every minute of every hour, every hour of
every day, every day of every week, every week of every month, and every
month of every year. Black history IS American history.
We are the masons that built our nation’s capital. We are the miners that
powered great cities. We are the scientists that took mankind to the moon.
We are the artists that defined America.
There is simply not a moment where Black history isn't prevalent, pivotal,
prominent, and invaluable. It is, simply put, the history of humanity.
We have more of it to make.

elected to federal office. This year, I plan on changing that. If you’re
with me in this fight, can I count on you to chip in $5 or
whatever you can?

This year, all across our country, we have a real chance to write a new
chapter in our history; one that moves us forward in the fight for
economic, racial, and environmental justice.
We have a chance to move our country forward towards a future where we
don’t have to worry about our door’s getting kicked in or our children
facing police violence because of the color of their skin.
We have a chance to send a young Black man from the hood and descendant of
enslaved Kentuckians to the United States Senate, replace Rand Paul, and
bring forth a new chapter of equitable, strong leadership to our
Commonwealth.
[ [link removed] ]I know we can do this. I know that, together,
we can create the future we want — for ourselves, for our loved ones, and
for our communities. So I have to ask one more time: will you please chip
in $5 to our campaign?
I’m not running to make history. I’m running to transform our future.
Take this stand with me.
Charles
