Last week, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution published the results of its latest polling.
Joe Biden’s approval rating in Georgia has taken a nosedive, with 61% of voters now “somewhat” or “strongly” disapproving of the job he’s doing. And Governor Kemp has nearly DOUBLE the lead in a head-to-head matchup against Stacey Abrams as compared to former senator David Perdue.
It’s clear that Governor Kemp is the Republican best-positioned to defeat Stacey Abrams this November. We need to keep hammering home our message as this primary race heats up. |

PROMISES MADE, PROMISES KEPT: MILITARY INCOME TAX EXEMPTION |
On the campaign trail in 2018, Governor Kemp promised to fight for a retired military income tax exemption to thank Georgia's veterans for all they’ve done for our state and nation. Last week, he visited a career training center for veterans in Warner Robins to roll out that proposal as the 2022 Legislative Session gets underway.
With almost 700,000 former service members and over 101,000 career military retirees currently residing in the state, Georgia is home to the fifth largest veteran population in the country. This legislation will ensure hardworking Georgians keep more of their own money in their pockets and build on Georgia’s reputation as a national leader in supporting our veterans. |

GETTING THE JOB DONE ON CONSTITUTIONAL CARRY |
In early January, days before the start of the 2022 Legislative Session, Governor Kemp held a press conference to let Georgians know that getting Constitutional Carry on the books this year is among his top legislative priorities, fulfilling yet another promise from his campaign for governor in 2018.
He’s led the charge on this issue over the last three years, and he is determined to get the job done. As he’s said time and time again, the U.S. Constitution grants our citizens the right to carry a firearm, and this is a fundamental right that should not be limited by state government approval. We’re working now to build a groundswell of grassroots support for this law, to empower Georgians to protect themselves and their families. |
