Dear Friend,

Facing Race in Phoenix Nov 17-19, 2022

Race Forward is excited to announce Facing Race: A National Conference will be hosted both in-person in Phoenix, Arizona, and online, November 17- 19!

The largest multiracial, inter-generational gathering for organizers, educators, creatives, and other leaders, Facing Race is a one-of-a-kind collaborative space for racial justice movement making. For over 15 years, Race Forward has presented this incredible conference experience that has hosted over 4,000 attendees to convene, organize and mobilize for a more equitable future.

Coming just weeks after the 2022 midterm election, a very critical election for the future of what America now calls democracy and for the true multicultural democracy we envision and work toward, Facing Race 2022 will provide a unique collaborative space for discussions and strategies to continue advancing racial justice.

With so much at stake, we invite your participation at Facing Race to help chart the path for the future of the racial justice movement. Like those who came before us, we must strive and we must organize to create and build the society we want and deserve. It is a decisive moment in our movement, a time to press forward in solidarity as a coalition of movement makers.

During these trying times, it's important to share the things that keep us going. In this edition, we hear from our Policy and Advocacy Manager, Emi Yoko-Young

N.K. Jemisin book series

"Last year I became enamored by the work of N.K. Jemisin and sped through the "Inheritance" and the "Broken Earth" series. I was transported into the worlds and realities she created, connected with the characters she developed, and was inspired by the relationships and collective power she portrays in her plots."
