FairVote

Friend --

It’s been a big month for ranked choice voting. New York City passed it for its 2021 elections with 73% of the vote, and a record 11 cities held RCV elections. Democrats in five states will cast RCV ballots next spring in their presidential primaries, and both the Ranked Choice Voting Act and Fair Representation Act have been introduced in Congress.

We’d like to celebrate and uplift reformers who are making change happen. We gather not to raise funds, but to raise hope. And there’s still time to join us.

Please attend our annual Champions of Democracy celebration on Capitol Hill on Monday, November 18. Our event is free to attend and open to the public. Doors will open at 6:30pm, and the event will begin at 6:45pm. We’ll have food, drink, and some of the biggest stars in the 2019 RCV movement.

This year's champions include Congressman Jamie Raskin, musician and FairVote’s outgoing board chair Krist Novoselic, Harvard professor and frequent Washington Post columnist Danielle Allen, state reform groups OneVirginia2021 (who are leading a big push for redistricting reform) and FairVote Washington, and courageous, forward-looking public officials bringing RCV to New York City and Utah. We have a great set of presenters as well, as indicated in the program below.

Please come celebrate with us at this special event, which will be held in the Rayburn House Office Building on Capitol Hill. Our celebration is free, but we need your RSVP.

Thank you!
