The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) is proud, honored and privileged to announce that the National Security Advisor to the President of the United States of America, who is also the U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs, Ambassador Robert Charles O’Brien, will be the recipient of ZOA’s prestigious Dr. Miriam and Sheldon Adelson Award for Defense of America and Israel.
Ambassador O’Brien will receive this award at the ZOA’s Gala Award Dinner on the evening of Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. The distinguished U.S. Ambassador to Germany, Ambassador Richard Grenell, a previous ZOA award recipient, will present the award to Ambassador O’Brien.
Ambassador O’Brien was a legal officer with the United Nation Security Council Compensation Commission in Geneva, Switzerland. He also served as the U.S. Alternate Representative to the sixtieth session of the United Nations General Assembly during 2005-2006. He represented the United States in the General Assembly’s Sixth Committee, which considered the Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism.
Other honorees at the extraordinary ZOA’s Superstar Gala include, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Israel’s U.N. Ambassador Danny Danon, Judge Jeanine Pirro, and Dr. Robert Shillman. The Myron Zimmerman Award will be presented to an outstanding student pro-Israel Activist. Texas Congressman Michael McCaul, the ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and ZOA Chairman Mark Levenson will be presenters. ZOA National President Morton A. Klein will also be delivering remarks. The Emcee is radio and TV personality Rita Cosby.
