Dear John
It is now a year since the Burmese military launched their attempted coup, and things are not going according to their plan.
The people of Burma have resisted in every way they can, making enormous sacrifices and risking their lives.
Desperate to cling on to power, the military have effectively declared war on the people of Burma.
They have killed more than 1,500 people.
They have arrested almost 12,000 people.
They have forced well over 300,000 people to flee their homes.
Internationally the military are also facing increasing pressure. We have successfully campaigned for several rounds of sanctions to cut money going to the military.
But there is much more that the international community can do to stop the flow of arms and money to the military.
Burma Campaign UK has been working day and night to identify and cut off sources of money and arms. We have forced companies all over the world to stop doing business with the military. We have built a legal team to help political prisoners and worked with media to ensure the world knows what’s going on.
Please make a donation today to support our campaigns for stronger international action against the military.
Thank you for your support.

PS: Now is the time to maximise pressure on the military. They are more vulnerable than they have been for years. We need to increase the pressure and we need your financial support to help do that. Please make a donation today.
You can donate from any country in the world.
