Hi John,
As we take time today to honor all the men and women who’ve served our country in uniform, I wanted to send you a quick note.
I’m honored to serve as a member of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee in Congress, and it’s a top priority to ensure those who bravely served our nation get the care and respect they deserve upon coming home.
For too long, our country has fallen short on the commitments and promises made to our military men and women. We still continue to see high rates of homelessness, PTSD, and long wait times for necessary care.
Our veterans deserve better, and I consider it part of my sworn duty as a Member of Congress to work everyday to make sure we honor our commitment to veterans.
Right now, I’m proud to be leading a bipartisan effort to bring a new VA Hospital to North Texas that would provide care to over 184,000 area vets.
This is a first step, John. We’ve still got a long way to go, but we've made great progress.
Let’s all challenge ourselves to carry the meaning of today with us as we express our appreciation to our men and women of the military.
Thank you, John,
Colin
