Hi John,

In a moment, I'm going to ask you to chip in towards our first end-of-month fundraising goal of the year at midnight, but let me tell you why I need your support:

Today I’ve been stuck in the office all day and focused on nothing but fundraising… it’s not exactly my favorite thing in the world, but it’s part of the job when you’re in a purple seat.

There’s also a lot on my mind right now as we prepare to bring a baby girl into the world, and I know there's a lot riding on us with this upcoming election.

I so desperately want the future to be easy for my daughter. But I know some of the challenges we face today are in reality generational issues - climate change, economic justice, racial equality - they won’t be solved in the next year. But I can sure as heck tell you they won’t be tackled with Republicans in charge of Congress. And that’s why I’m here so late in the office - because I know how vital holding this toss-up seat really is.
