State of the Map Update from Senate Democratic Campaign Chair, Sen. Gary Peters

Friend – it's Gary. I just left my January Senate strategy meeting. As chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), it's my job to make sure we defend and expand our Senate majority this year, so I wanted to give you an update on where things stand now that we're in the heat of the election year.

I'll keep it straightforward: The 2022 Senate map isn't looking good for Democrats. Experts have listed Sen. Raphael Warnock as the MOST vulnerable Senator up for reelection, and race ratings for both Sen. Mark Kelly and Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto have recently flipped from Leans Democratic to Toss-up.

If we had the resources to reach critical voters, I know that Republicans wouldn't stand a chance. But GOP megadonors have made it clear that they won't go down without a fight: They've already raked in $104 MILLION to take back the Senate. 

Only with a powerful grassroots movement will we be able to get Democratic ads on the air, fight back against dark money ad buys, counter GOP disinformation and make sure our message reaches key voters before Election Day.
