Friend, my campaign is about to close the books on January with a $4,356 shortfall.

Let me start with this: I am so grateful for your continued support. You always step up when I need you most.

But please take this to heart: Now that we're officially in an election year, these fundraising goals matter more than ever. We are operating with the most tenuous possible control of the Senate – with literally zero margin for error – and Democratic control will vanish if we lose a single seat.

I don't want to begin 2022 by scaling back our campaign efforts – not when I'm up against radical, Trump-loyalist opponents who want to flip this seat. We need to be bolstering our efforts to keep this seat blue and expand Democratic control of the Senate. With everything from reproductive rights to voting rights to climate justice and more on the line, falling short is not an option.

Your donation right now could prevent us from facing a shortfall.

That's why I'm emailing you, Friend. Because you're someone who cares deeply about protecting Democratic Senate control, I know you'll take this ask seriously: Please, before my end-of-month deadline, can you chip in $5 or more to defend this blue Senate seat and keep Democrats in control of the Senate? The months ahead will be challenging, and we need grassroots resources here and now to compete.

With so much gratitude,

Dick
