Hi friends,
Please join us next week as we announce the trial dates for Held v. State of Montana, kicking off a countdown to the first ever children’s climate trial in U.S. history!
Last August, we were delighted to share that the sixteen youth plaintiffs we represent in Held v. State of Montana were headed to trial, following an historic decision by District Court Judge Kathy Seeley. Trial in Held v. State of Montana means that the youth can present evidence in open court proving that, by supporting a fossil fuel-driven energy system, the state of Montana causes and contributes to dangerous levels of greenhouse gas emissions, and therefore is responsible for the climate-related injuries the youth suffer in violation of their rights under the Montana Constitution.
