Veteran’s Day is our nation’s day of remembrance to honor America’s military service members and veterans, living and dead, active and retired, for their service and sacrifice on behalf of our country.

We can never thank our veterans enough for their service. Today’ s holiday in their honor is just a small token of the gratitude we should all feel.

To our Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen on active duty, thank you for the risks you take and the sacrifices you make every day.

To all the veterans out there, we honor you! Thank you for your service and devotion to the defense of our way of life and our values.

And to the families—the spouses, children, parents of those who serve and have served our nation—I send you my personal thanks for your sacrifice.

Friends, please take time to honor and thank those to whom we owe so much during this Veteran’s Day.  Offer them the support, gratitude and recognition they so richly deserve.

Thank them for ensuring the freedoms we enjoy every day.  Assure them that their service will never be forgotten. Demonstrate that you are forever grateful for the service they give.

Finally, as a personal message to New Mexico veterans, please know this:

As I fight every day to ensure that our nation’s veterans get the service, benefits and support that they deserve, I want each and every one to know that your sacrifice can never be repaid.

In Gratitude,

Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham
