Dear John,

Today is the last day for the California State Assembly to vote on increasing taxes, dismantling private healthcare and even laying the groundwork to unionize In-N-Out burgers.

And in the spirit of the NFL games this weekend – these bills are coming down to the wire. At least in politics there is no overtime.

The good news is that there is still time to voice your opinion on these bills – it really doesn't take more than two clicks.

For those who aren't keeping a close eye on Sacramento, our policy team has compiled some of the most notable and radical bills here:

AB 1400 - This bill would create the California Guaranteed Health Care for All program, or CalCare, to provide single-payer health care coverage and get rid of private avenues for healthcare insurance. This bill would be funded in part by a constitutional amendment that proposes the largest tax increase in California history.

AB 257 - This California Assembly Bill would establish the “Fast Food Sector Council," whose members will be appointed solely by the state government. This council would have broad powers to set labor standards (minimum wage, working hours, health and safety standards) for all fast food restaurants.

AB 1253 - This California Assembly Bill would impose additional personal income taxes to all Californians who make over $1,000,000. The bill would take effect immediately as a tax levy.

Thank you for continuing to stand up for transparency and liberty in the state of California. If there is a bill we should be tracking please let us know.

Best,

Vice President
